In light of escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli issued a powerful message of support for the Indian Armed Forces. The ongoing conflict, marked by missile strikes, air raid alerts, and increased military activity along the Line of Control and in various border regions of India, has raised significant security concerns. The suspension of IPL 2025 came after the cancellation of a match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Friday.

On Instagram, Kohli wrote, “We stand in solidarity with, and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation.”

Pakistan’s attack on Jammu, Pathankot, parts of Punjab and Rajasthan was swiftly thwarted by the Indian Armed Forces.

This decision highlights the gravity of the situation, especially after Thursday’s match was abruptly halted. Concerns over security led to the evacuation of players from the stadium.

The match, which was pivotal for Punjab Kings’ playoff chance, was cancelled.

There is speculation about whether the remaining matches will be rescheduled or moved to a neutral venue once the security situation is resolved.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma, India’s ODI captain, expressed similar sentiments, voicing his pride in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. He urged the public to avoid spreading false information and to stand united.
