Virat Kohli is returning to ODI cricket after a long time, and the veteran is expected to score heavily. He has been magnificent in this format and has recorded fifty hundreds, the most by any cricketer. A good series against England will help him dominate the bowlers in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
If Virat manages to score three fifties or centuries, he will become the first batter to score 60 fifty+ scores in one-day internationals. Sachin Tendulkar leads the table with 57 fifty-plus scores at home with 33 half-centuries and 24 tons.
Kohli also has a chance to become the quickest cricketer to complete 14000 runs in ODI cricket. Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara are the only batters to accumulate 14000+ runs in ODI cricket, and Kohli needs 94 runs to join them. The two retired cricketers completed the landmark in 350 and 378 innings, respectively, and Kohli has batted in 283 innings.
The series opener between India and England will be held on February 6 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
