Parthiv Patel and Tamim Iqbal have said that Virat Kohli is under more pressure than the other members of the Fab Four. Virat, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root are the members of the elite group.
Kohli hasn’t been in the best of form since 2023. In the opening Test against Bangladesh, he managed 6 and 17 across both innings in Chennai.
“I don’t think he takes a lot of pressure, but the likes of Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson can’t even imagine the type of pressure Virat is under all the time.
“The pressure of meeting the expectations of the millions. His standards are so high that even a score of 60 or 70 looks like a failure. We expect him to score a hundred every time he comes out to bat,” Parthiv Patel said.
Parthiv further said that Virat’s hunger to perform will remain with him as long as he is playing Test matches.
“He is getting older but the passion and zeal to perform is still there. His hunger will not go away as long as he is playing Test format,” he added.
Tamim pointed out that Kohli has won more white-ball games single-handedly compared to Smith, Root and Williamson. “The Fab 4 have been magnificent in Test cricket, but if you talk about their match-winning performances in white-ball formats, Virat has won more matches single-handedly for India National Cricket Team than the three others.”
