Mumbai Indians have won five matches in the Indian Premier League 2025 and are third in the points table. Former India cricketer and commentator Piyush Chawla praised the five-time champions. MI defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets in their ninth contest of the 18th season.

Chawla said that Mumbai have been playing well and that the team is running at full speed, with Rohit Sharma finding his form again.

“They’re on a great run right now. The way they’ve been playing cricket lately, with all their recent wins being so convincing, it’s clear they’re in top form. The bowlers are doing their job perfectly and the batters are in excellent form. Mumbai Indians are a team that knows how to bounce back and take control,” Chawla said on JioHotstar.

“Earlier, there were worries about Rohit Sharma not being able to score, but in the last couple of games, he’s really stepped up. Hardik Pandya is in phenomenal form, both with bat and ball, which boosts his confidence,” he added.

After six games, Rohit found his rhythm, hitting fifties in back-to-back games against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He scored a perfect 76* off 45 balls against CSK and then 70 off 46 balls against SRH. His form has played a big part in MI’s comeback.
