Former Pakistan fast bowler Junaid Khan opined on the ongoing scheduling controversy in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He blamed the BCCI and the Indian team. He commented before the final between New Zealand and New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Junaid highlighted the difference between the distances covered by India, New Zealand and South Africa. The Proteas travelled 3286 kilometres, including a visit to Dubai and then returning to Pakistan in less than 12 hours for their semifinal against New Zealand. Mitchell Santner’s team played in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Dubai. The Kiwis travelled 7150 kilometres. Team India team did not have to travel as their matches were kept in Dubai.

“Distance travelled between matches in Champions Trophy 2025: New Zealand: 7,150 KM, South Africa: 3,286 KM, India: 0 KM. Some teams win by skill, some win by scheduling…,” he tweeted.

Several former and current players have slammed the International Cricket Council for favouring the Rohit Sharma-led team in the Champions Trophy. However, Gautam Gambhir slammed the critics, calling them cribbers.

“We are practicing at the ICC Academy and the pitches over here are completely different from the ones being used for our matches. Some people are just perpetual cribbers,” he said.
