Karun Nair will return to Northamptonshire for seven County Championship matches in April and May after failing to get a franchise for IPL 2024.

Northants brought Nair for the final three games last season and he performed pretty well for the club. He scored 78, 150 and 21 in his three innings.

His availability was not confirmed due to IPL auction in Dubai but he went unsold and is now poised to play first seven games of the season.

“I’m thrilled to be back with Northamptonshire for another stint,” Karun Nair said. “Our aim is to win games and secure promotion to the main division. I will try to contribute with the bat,” he added.

“I would like to thank the coach and captain for giving me another chance after the last season. I want to put big runs on the board.”

Nair, who is 32, has played six Tests and two ODIs for India. He scored an unbeaten 303 against England in Chennai in 2016.
