Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to end their losing streak in the Indian Premier League 2025. SRH and CSK, the two struggling franchises, were up against each other at Chepauk, and it was the visiting team that had the last laugh.

Hyderabad bowlers dismissed Chennai Super Kings for 154 runs in 19.5 overs, and then the batters completed the target in 18.4 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Harshal Patel’s four wickets were the difference in the end, and the veteran pacer was named the Player of the Match.

Sunrisers have won three out of nine games and need success in the remaining five to stand a chance of making it to the playoffs. Batting has been their main concern, and the problems still persist. Former India opener Aakash Chopra opined on the performance of the Men in Orange.

“Sunrisers Hyderabad formed a better team than last year with Ishna Kishan and Aniket Verma joining the ranks. Abhishek Sharma and Head are not scoring runs. Heinrich Klaasen was dismissed early against CSK,” Aakash Chopra said.

“Nitish Kumar Reddy set the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on fire, but he hasn’t clicked on it his season. He was demoted in the batting order, and that hurt his self-respect. The No.7 spot is not his usual position. He must be thinking, ‘I am not bowling in this season, and then you are taking away my original batting slot.’ Despite their win over Chennai, their old problems are still there,” he added.

Mohammed Shami, the veteran Indian fast bowler, has been expensive, and they don’t have a quality spinner on the team. Adam Zampa was ruled out of the season after picking up an injury. Captain Pat Cummins hasn’t been at his best as a bowler and the leader of the group. Hyderabad are eighth in the standings, with three wins and six defeats.
