The Italian company founded by Lapo Elkann is making fun of the recently updated Porsche 911 GTS

- Milan-based firm Garage Italia Customs created a fun rendering of the Porsche 992.2.
- The imaginary 911 Jaws Edition makes fun of the shark-style gills on the bumper intakes.
- The shark effect is accentuated by a fin, shark teeth, Jaws graphics, and a large rear wing.
Over its 60-year run, the Porsche 911 has seen its design evolve while stubbornly clinging to its iconic shape. Yet, not all changes have been welcomed with open arms. The “fried egg” headlights of the 996 generation drew fierce backlash from enthusiasts for straying from tradition.
Fast forward to the latest 992.2, and its the bumper intakes that have rubbed some enthusiasts the wrong way. This has led Milan-based Garage Italia Customs to take a jab (or should we say a bite?) at the design with a Jaws-themed render that playfully emphasizes the car’s shark-like features.
The illustration is based on the 2025 Porsche 911 GTS that was introduced earlier this year. The design of the bumper intakes bears a strong resemblance to shark gills, although Porsche paints them black in the production model.

Garage Italia Customs accentuated the shark-effect by applying a gray and white livery, together with adding shark teeth decals on the windshield, a fin on the roof, and a large rear wing looking like a shark’s tail.
The red lettering completes the movie car theme, with Jaws’ director Steven Spielberg’s name printed on the side windows. Finally, the retro-flavored Fuchs wheels are a period-correct feature, judging from the 1975 release date of the original movie. Obviously, the rendering is more of a mockery than a project worth materializing.

Garage Italia Customs shared the photo on Instagram with the following caption: “In addition to the introduction of a hybrid system, the 911 Carrera GTS, unveiled a few months ago, sparked a lot of discussion for the inclusion of movable vertical blades in front air intakes. To us, they looked very much like the gills of a shark. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to create this JAWS-themed concept. What do you think?”
The Italian firm specializes in vehicle customization and bespoke liveries. The studio was founded by Lapo Elkann, the grandson of former Fiat boss, Gianni Agnelli, and the brother of Ferrari’s chairman, John Elkann. The businessman with the eccentric style resigned from his position as Garage Italia Custom’s president in 2021, shortly after the firm was sold to Swiss company Youngtimers AG.
The last time we heard about Garage Italia Customs is when they unveiled the Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto Hybrid restomod back in 2022. The one-off is still listed for sale on the company’s official website, suggesting that buyers have yet to expressed their interest in the build.
The studio has also created many versions of the Fiat 500 and Abarth 595 hatchbacks with fancy wraps and unique styling touches. Lately, they seem to be more focused in renderings and throwback posts than new projects.
