Virat Kohli was at his fiery best on Friday as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their penultimate IPL 2025 league match in Lucknow.
In the first innings, Abhishek Sharma fell to Lungi Ngidi in the fourth over after a brief but powerful knock. He scored 34 runs off 17 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes. Ngidi bowled a full delivery on middle and leg, and Abhishek tried to flick the ball but misjudged it. The ball went to deep backward square leg, where Phil Salt took a fantastic catch near the boundary to break the opening partnership.
Kohli, responding to the dismissal, charged towards the pitch and yelled at Abhishek as he made his way back to the dugout. Abhishek stayed silent while Kohli spoke to him. This came after Abhishek had voiced his displeasure about a send-off celebration from LSG’s Digvesh Rathi a few days earlier.

Despite Abhishek’s early dismissal, SRH posted a huge total of 231/6, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s brilliant 94 runs from 48 balls, which included seven fours and five sixes.
In reply, Philip Salt was the highest scorer for RCB, making 62 runs off 32 balls, while Virat Kohli added 43 runs from 25 balls to the total. Unfortunately, the rest of the RCB batting order struggled, and they were bowled out for 189. This handed Sunrisers Hyderabad a well-earned 42-run victory.
