The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with new rules and regulations after the series defeat in Australia. According to India Today, the apex body has made it mandaotory for the cricketers to participate in domestic tournaments to play for India and also get central contracts. The personal staff of the cricketers has been banned from traveling with them, and family time has been limited.

The players are not allowed to travel in private cars, and all the cricketers will have to use the team bus. The endorsement shoots will not be permitted during the series or tour.

All the players will have to attend scheduled practice sessions. The family visits will have to be scheduled after obtaining permission from the coach, captain, and GM of Operations. Players will not be allowed to leave the team if the match or the series ends earlier than planned.

The players will have to follow the rules. Anyone who breaks them will be sanctioned from participating in all BCCI-conducted tournaments, including the Indian Premier League, and the match fees will be deducted.

It is to be noted that senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven’t confirmed their participation in Ranji Trophy matches for Mumbai and Delhi, respectively. When Rohit returned for the practice session, there was no information on Kohli. It will be interesting to see how the BCCI handles these two if they don’t turn up for the upcoming games.
