Former player Tanvir Ahmed has slammed the critics of star batter Babar Azam. The white-ball captain of Pakistan is facing flak for his failures in the first Test against Bangladesh. He scored a two-ball duck in the first innings.

He couldn’t do much in the second, amassing 22. Tavir is still backing Babar and criticized those who are targeting the right-handed batter.

“Let the critics be jealous of him. Babar Azam is the King of Pakistan and will remain in the future. The former players who are speaking against him don’t love Pakistan.

“Check out what they did for the country during their active days in international cricket,” Ahmed said.

Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by 10 wickets. Meanwhile, Tanvir also hit out the Pakistan Cricket Board for paying PKR 50 lakh each to the five mentors of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024 teams.

Saqlain Mushtaq, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed are the mentors.

“These five players are getting PKR 50 Lakh. Do you think that they have that level?” he added.

The Champions One-Day Cup will run from September 12 to 29 and will feature the top 150 cricketers in the country.
