Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have passed their prime in international cricket. They have talent and skills to play match-winning innings but consistency is the last thing any fan could expect from them. Im the four Tests against Australia, the two haven’t been among the runs. Virat scored a century in the second innings of the first Test but has weakness outside the off stump has exposed in the remaining chances.

On the other hand, Rohit has forgotten to amass runs and his last five innings in Australia have proved that he is done with cricket.

Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar is not confident of Rohit’s success but feels Virat, who is in a batter physical shape, can carry on for a few years.

“There is no comparison between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in Test cricket. Virat Kohli is a great Test better and Rohit is a good batter in red-ball format. Rohit is a great batter in white-ball cricket. Virat is among the top players in Test cricket.

“Rohit is looking down and out but it is not upto to him to decide about his career. The chairman of the selection committee has right and the powers to decide who can be a part of the team. He can inform the player but for me, Rohit doesn’t seems to be enjoying his game,” Sanjay Manjrekar said.

Australia have moved ahead following their 184-run win over India in the fourth Test.
