“When overseas cricketers come to India on turning pitches they shouldn’t complain”: Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan has given his opinion on the pitch being used for the second Test between South Africa and India in Cape Town. The surface is unplayable for the batters and the fall of 23 wickets on Day 1 is enough to highlight the demons in the track.

South Africa were bowled out for 55 runs in the first session, while India’s reply lasted for 153. The Proteas lost three wickets in the second innings. Irfan, Aakash Chopra, Mayank Agarwal and others have questioned the critics for not speaking about the pitch.

India has been at the receiving end of critical remarks whenever overseas teams have played in the sub-continent nation. Cricket experts have accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for going against the spirit of the game by preparing rank-turners for home games.

Reacting to such statements, Irfan urged the visiting players to learn about the conditions instead of complaining.

“When overseas cricketers come to India on turning pitches they shouldn’t complain. It’s a skill they need to improve,” he wrote on X.

India are trailing by 0-1, having lost the first Test by an innings and 32 runs.
