(Watch) Lyon completes 500 wickets, Starc reaches 200 scalps in first Test vs Pakistan

The first Test between Australia and Pakistan was historic for Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc.

Lyon completed 500 Test wickets, while Starc touched the 200-wicket mark in red-ball cricket in Australia.

Lyon reached the 500-wicket landmark when he dismissed Faheem Ashraf and was embraced by his teammates.

In 123 Test matches, Nathan Lyon has dismissed 501 batters at an average of 30.85. He has 23 five-wicket hauls and 5 ten-wicket hauls.

“(To get) 500 test wickets, over a decade, in all conditions, he just finds a way,” said Cummins in praise of Lyon, who was making a comeback after his calf injury during the Ashes series. “He’s been stewing on it for six months with his injury.”

Starc reached the landmark on Day of the opening game against Pakistan.

He is third Aussie seamer and fifth overall to take 200 wickets.

Shane Warne (319), Glenn McGrath (289), Dennis Lillee (231) and Nathan Lyon (238) are the other four bowlers.

Overall, he has taken 338 wickets in 83 Test matches.
