Bucharest, the capital city of Romania, was once named the ‘Paris of the East’ renowned for it’s beautiful Parisian architecture and Beaux-Arts buildings.
Home to one of the largest buildings in the world – the Palace of the Parliament – and the biggest spa in Europe, Bucharest is a must see.
It’s also helps that it’s a complete bargain to visit.
Visitors to hidden-gem city can expect to pay just over £20 per person for a three-course meal, according to cost of living database, Numbeo.

There are also plenty of cheap and cheerful hotels in the city – some for as little as £24 per night.
Bucharest is also a hidden gem with very few tourists compared to some other European cities, however, as it becomes more popular on social media, prices could be seen to start creeping up.
