Inzamam-ul-Haq has responded to Rohit Sharma’s statement on the former Pakistan captain’s allegation of ball-tampering. Inzy had accused Team India of working hard on the ball to get the reverse swing against Australia. The veteran said that it is not possible to achieve the reverse swing with a 15-over old ball. He highlighted the bowling spell of Arshdeep Singh, who took three wickets against the Mitchell Marsh-led team.

“It is not possible to achieve reserve swing with the 15-over old ball but Arshdeep Singh was able to get it done. There was some serious work done on the ball by the Indian players and the umpires should keep their eyes open,” he said on one of the TV channels in Pakistan.

One of the journalists asked Rohit about Inzamam‘s accusation on the eve of India’s semi-final against England. He refuted the claims.

“The hot conditions and dry pitches are helping the bowlers to get reverse swing. All the teams have achieved it and not just us. It is important to keep your mind open,” Rohit Sharma said.

Inzamam was told about Rohit’s response and he hit back at the Indian skipper. “I didn’t say that Team India was doing something fishy. I asked the umpires to keep their eyes open. I feel they should also keep their mind open. Rohit Sharma shouldn’t teach us about the reverse swing. He atleast admitted that what I said was right.”

India will take on South Africa in the final on June 29.
