Virat Kohli is likely to miss the remaining three Tests against England as he hasn’t returned to India from London. He opted out of the first two Tests for personal reasons, and the veteran is currently dealing with it.

Commenting on the development, former England player Nasser Hussain said the game needs to look after Virat Kohli as he has been a part of international cricket for over 15 years. However, he said that the major missing will be fans not witnessing the battle between Virat and James Anderson for the last time.

“The game needs to look after Virat Kohli as he has been playing for more than 15 years, and if he needs a break to be with his family, let him have his say. We wish him all the best. I know we will not get to see the contest between Virat Kohli and James Anderson. But Virat Kohli and his family come first,” Hussain was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Hussain also highlighted Team India’s batting performance without Virat Kohli.

“The batters threw away their wickets and the batting looked pretty ordinary at times. Kohli bats ruthlessly to win games. India will miss his class and hunger to beat rivals,” he added.

India haven’t been able to bat England out of the match in four innings. In the first, the host nation lost the game despite taking a 190-run lead.

India’s batting is a big worry

Apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double hundred in the second Test, no other batter scored a fifty in the first innings. Later, India set a target of 399 runs to England, with Shubman Gill (104) being the only positive.

With the series levelled 1-1, the third Test in Rajkot is crucial for India and England. The game will start on Thursday, February 15, at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
