Jet2 has issued a flight warning for British tourists flying from several UK airports on January 31.

An airline spokesperson said: “Our operations team continue to monitor the UK forecast to ensure we have the most up to date information for all Jet2.com departing and arriving customers for January 31, 2024, from 5am until 7pm.

“The Met Office has warned that high winds are expected in Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.

“If you are travelling with Jet2.com we plan to operate our flights as close to schedule as possible, however, there may be some disruption should the weather deteriorate.

“We advise all customers to check in as scheduled (our check in desks close 40 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time) and our friendly Red Teams in the terminal will keep you up to date.”

If a flight is disrupted, Jet2 passengers will be contacted directly via email or text message. Updates will also be posted on the airline’s website.

The airline said it would board all flights for an on-time departure where possible but advised passengers to be prepared for a longer than normal weight at the terminal or onboard the aircraft.

Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle are the airports likely to be impacted on January 31.
