Jasprit Bumrah has been playing with the defence of England batters for the last three weeks. He has been uprooting stumps for fun on pitches that are made for spinners.

Former India player Aakash Chopra is in love with Bumrah’s fast bowling and heaped massive praise on the pacer.

The 30-year-old single-handedly destroyed England’s batting line-up in the first innings of the second Test, taking six wickets. He was not finished and added three more scalps in the second innings to finish the game with 9 wickets.

Indin won the game by 106 runs, and Bumrah was adjudged the Player of the Match. He also became the number-one bowler in the ICC Test Rankings.

Bumrah is the only bowler in the history of cricket to achieve top ranking across formats. Overall, he is the fourth Player after Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Virat Kohli.

“There is no one like Jasprit Bumrah. He is taking wickets on rank-turners. Bumrah was down with a serious back injury but has returned sensationally. He is playing the batters, who also know that he is setting them up. Bumrah can bring in and take out the ball every now and then.

“He is making us fall in love with Test cricket. Congratulations to him for becoming number one bowler in Test cricket. He is the first Indian pacer to do so. He is the only bowler to rank number one across formats,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Aakash doesn’t want Bumrah to miss the third Test against England in Rajkot.

“There are stories of him being rested for the third Test. I hope he doesn’t. If at all he misses the game, Mohammed Siraj’s role will become important,” Aakash Chopra added.

The series is levelled 1-1, with England winning the Hyderabad Test by 28 runs, while India came back to beat the Ben Stokes-led team by 106 runs in Vizag.
