Ishan Kishan to make himself available for England Test series

The Indian team is likely to opt for a specialist wicketkeeper for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, bringing Ishan Kishan into contention.

It was reported that Ishan was dropped from the team due to disciplinary issues but Rahul Dravid has categorically denied such reports. The southpaw is likely to make himself available for the games. The 25-year-old player is currently recovering from mental fatigue.

The first Test will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on January 25.

Ishan will have to play in a Ranji Trophy game before being considered for the Test series. He is likely to be a part of the Jharkhand’s next contest against Services in Delhi from January 19.

“No disciplinary issue. Ishan Kishan is not available and that’s why he was not considered for the T20I m series against Afghanistan. He will have to make himself available and then play in a domestic match. He will be then considered for the Indian team,” Rahul Dravid said ahead of first T20I in Mohali. .

KS Bharat, the other specialist wicket-keeper batter, has been asked to play for India A against England Lions in Ahmedabad. Ishan Kishan remains a potential candidate for the series

KL Rahul to focus on batting

KL Rahul will not keep wickets in the England series and will play as a batter against the Ben Stokes-,led team. Rahul kept wickets in the recently concluded two-match Test series against South Africa.

Rahul has also been advised to skip the Ranji Trophy game.
