Delhi Capitals (DC) are on a mission to clinch their first IPL title, fueled by the return of Rishabh Pant to the forefront. With six playoff appearances under their belt, the team is strategically building a formidable squad for the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

In a bold move during the IPL Players Auction 2024, DC successfully secured the services of England’s talented batter, Harry Brook, for a substantial sum of Rs 4 crore. Brook, who had been released by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) before the auction, emerged as the focal point of a spirited bidding war between DC and Rajasthan Royals.

Ricky Ponting, the head coach of Delhi Capitals, expressed his pleasant surprise at acquiring Harry Brook for INR 4 crore, especially considering the player’s base price of INR 2 crore. The acquisition of Brook adds a significant boost to DC’s batting lineup, enhancing their chances of a successful campaign in the upcoming season.

But the team’s proactive approach didn’t stop there. In a strategic move, Delhi Capitals also secured the services of South Africa’s wicketkeeper, Tristan Stubbs, for a reasonable sum of INR 50 lakhs. Stubbs had been released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the retention process, making him an attractive prospect for DC.

As a result of their shrewd moves in the IPL 2024 auction, Delhi Capitals have significantly strengthened their squad.
