Team India’s joy over their triumph in the second Test against South Africa is still fresh, according to KL Rahul, who expressed that the swift conclusion of the game has yet to fully register with the team.

The match in Cape Town concluded on Day 2, resulting in an impressive seven-wicket victory for India on Thursday. This win allowed India to level the two-match series, accomplished in a record-breaking fashion with just 642 balls, marking the fastest win in Test history.

During a Star Sports interview, Rahul discussed the importance of this victory for Team India.

“Winning in Cape Town for the first time brings great joy. In my third series here, it always felt like we could win, but we’d end up losing if we didn’t bat well in a session,” he said.

“Thrilled about securing this victory, it’s truly special. Emotionally, it’s hard for anyone to grasp. Feels like the toss just happened, and the match is already finished.”

Rahul further acknowledged that the team would have relished the opportunity for an additional Test match in the series. He mentioned that India has to wait for the next tour to aim for a maiden Test series victory in South Africa.
