To enjoy these cookies, I think you need to be an almond lover who enjoys orange-flavored things too. They’re not your typical cookie. And that’s actually what I love about them. That being said, they’re a delicious sweet treat!

  • granulated white sugar
  • egg
  • almond extract
  • grated orange zest
  • all purpose flour

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Use and electric hand mixer to combine the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg, extract and orange zest and beat until combined. Stir in the flour and almonds.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls 3 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheet. You can sprinkle a bit more orange zest on top, if you’d like.

Bake for 7 to 9 minutes. Cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
